Hi everyone! I'm your friendly neighborhood dentist in Union City.
 
They call me Dr. Ann Bess Chanco. I'm a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) as was conferred to me by my Alma Mater School, Centro Escolar University,  in Manila, Philippines back in 1985. That was a long time ago, huh? But, I'm not that old, ok?
 
I keep a dynamic enthusiasm for continuing education by attending various seminars, symposiums, conventions, workshops and lectures here and there and everywhere.  Name it: Invisalign,  ATPA-ApplianceTherapy Practitioners Association, Utility Archwire Mechanics for Minor and Interceptive Ortho, Implant courses, Crown Lengthening, Lumineers/Veneers Placement, and now.. I'm excited about Perio Protect..
 
Not everything is cool tho'.. I just Collect, then I Select. Only those I judge will benefit my patients and the delivery of my service timewise, comfortwise and healthwise. Make sense?
 
We have to be good at everything, right? Knowledgeable, at least. First line of defense- that's what we are in General Practice.. so, I signed up for AGD - Academy of General Dentistry..that's the next wisest thing to do.. to make sure I'm up-to-date with the latest technologies and services available for patients needing treatment.
 
My 11 years of  clinical experience in my Homeland, the Philippines, as a Dentist, as an Educator, as a Volunteer for the Missions, and as Community Leader has equipped me enough for the real battlefield of this Profession.
 
Emergencies have become my specialty, for where I come from, people go to the dentist only when in pain or swelling and occasionally, for beauty.. But, my compassion for the needy stemmed from joining the Medical/ Dental Missions of the local church in which my family was very much involved, The Kalayaan Lions Club with my father, and Kapwa Ko, Mahal Ko, a civic foundation of GMA,Channel 7 in my country which is an ongoing program to this day. Thanks to my mentor, Dr. Miguel Fontanilla,  who trained me well in exodontia and surgery.. I don't panic in the face of difficulties.
 
Holding various positions in Organized Dentistry during my youth have allowed me to interact with the different Dental Manufacturers, Suppliers, Laboratories, Educators, Specialists and fellow dentists as well, looking into their needs and the services they give. From my local chapter (Caloocan City Dental Society), national (Philippine Dental Association), and international (Federation Dentaire Intl) ..I have involved myself from 1985-1995.
 
1996- I rested. Migrated to the USA, attended to my personal life- oops, secret..!!!
 
August, 1999- I got my license to practice Dentistry in the State of California, joined a practice with Dr. Henry Dee called Dee & Chanco Dental Corporation in San Mateo, California. And for five long and fruitful years, our practice geared towards Cosmetics.  It was quite a transition, from attending to dental emergencies and Primary Dental Health Care issues to satisfying the vanity of a beautiful smile, doing bleaching with Bright Smiles and straighthening with Invisalign, veneers,etc..
 
Now, I'm ready.  A private practice of my own where I can express my true passion for Dentistry as a doctor, and as an artist.
 
My Philosophy:
Your Health is my No. 1 concern. Your beauty is your concern.  However, I can help you achieve that Beautiful Smile, too.. IF you ask for it..
